BOYS LIKE GIRLS - My Inspiration

I don't care how many new bands come. I don't care that they've gone country. I will forever love Boys Like Girls. They will always be my favorite band.
It all started during my sixth grade retreat, which was way back 2008. We were chilling in our rooms, waiting for our teacher's announcement. Suddenly my classmate was listening to this song, and I loved it instantly. I asked her what she was listening to, and she said "Five Minutes To Midnight". Since then, I listened to that song on replay for weeks. Then I finally decided to listen to more Boys Like Girls songs. They only had one album back then, so it wasn't really hard to find all their songs. Obviously, I ended up downloading each one and I started to love them ever since.
As a twelve-year-old during that time, people expected me to listen to Hannah Montana or the Jonas Brothers. But I didn't. And I'm sure as hell glad I didn't.
Boys Like Girls may not be as phenomenal or famous as My Chemical Romance or Fall Out Boy, but they influenced me in a different level. Their songs have been the soundtrack of my awkward puberty/growing stage. And the moment I entered high school, their Love Drunk album came out and I was thrilled because they had songs I could relate to.
And now, right before I graduated from high school, their latest album came out (Crazy World). I was a little disappointed to find out that they've gone from Pop/Rock to Country. But it didn't matter. Their songs were still THE BOMB. The lyrics were perfect, and I guess I learned to love Country Rock thanks to BLG.
There are a lot of bands I like, but none of them influenced me the way Boys Like Girls did. Most people might say I say too much, but we all had our awkward stages and I know that each of us had a companion during those stages, and it's safe to say that music, Boys Like Girls' music, was mine. They may have gone country, but nothing they do would ever make me disappointed. I know that through the many moments in my life, BLG would always have a song that I could relate to. I really hope one day I'd get to meet them face to face and tell them and thank them for how much they influenced me.
