10 steps towards happiness

EAT. IF FOOD DOESN'T MAKE YOU HAPPY, I DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL.

STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS. They may have prettier eyes than you, they may have prettier faces than you, they may be richer than you, taller than you, sexier than you. But everything won't happen if you learn to accept your iniquities and don't use them to your own disadvantage. Love yourself. Don't compare.

Surround yourself with the people who will lift your spirits high, not drag them down. Surround yourself with the people who will make you smile, not make you sad, because you adapt to the people around you. And what better thing to adapt than positivity? To adapt positivity, surround yourself with it.

Enjoy the little things.
Enjoy your morning cup of coffee.
Enjoy the sunset, the sunrise, the SUN.
Enjoy the little conversations.
Enjoy the flowers in the garden.
Enjoy the little children's smiles.
Enjoy the nice music in the bus.
Enjoy every little thing.
Practice random acts of kindness. Share your umbrella, or lend your handkerchief to people who need it. Help and old person cross the street. Open a door for someone. Share your food to the beggar on the street. Help a friend with her/his homework. You may think that these simple acts of kindness won't count for something. Believe me, they do.

Forgive. There's no point in holding grudges. Forgive the people who hurt you. You don't have to forget what they did, just forgive them. It may not change the way you feel about the person, it may not remove the pain, but it will surely make you feel better. Try it. Forgive people.

Be friendly. You don't have to be friends with everyone. But having friends is a stepping stone towards happiness. Having people to talk to, laugh with, joke around with, hang out with, will make you happy. :)

Be optimistic. See the glass as half full. Think positive. Because whatever happens, it will all come down to what you think. And if you think negative thoughts, no matter how beautiful your life is, you will be sad. Optimism is a good start to being happy. Let go of everything that makes you feel bad and think of thoughts that will make you feel better about yourself, about everything else.

Laugh and smile at the silliest shallowest things! Smile at strangers, smile at friends, smile at classmates, smile at the school janitor, smile at your professor, smile at that little kid you saw, smile at everybody. You never know, your smile might change somebody's day.

Pray. Most importantly, together with all these other things, pray for happiness, and HE shall grant it to you. ☺
